ACCESSIBILITY POLICY

The Morgans Collection is committed to ensuring every guest that stays with us and every visitor that attends one of our events, a private party or simply just pops in for a drink is treated fairly and equally. We work hard to ensure we meet all legal accessibility requirements and strive to go beyond this, aiming to eliminate any barriers that could affect guests or visitors with any accessibility needs.

We are committed to treating everyone in a way that ensures they maintain their dignity and independence, but our staff are always on-hand to support any guests when requested.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE

The nearest train station is Swansea Railway Station, which is around 12-minutes away by taxi. Taxis and lift-share services can drop guests off directly outside the main hotel building, and staff can assist guests from vehicles if required.

For guests arriving by their own transport, there are limited parking spaces available in the hotel carpark just a few metres in front of the hotel’s main entrance, and there is also a public car park just 500 ft away.

We encourage guests to discuss any accessibility requirements with our reservations team at the time of booking.

MORGANS HOTEL

ACCESSING THE MAIN BUILDING

We have a ramp at the front of our main hotel, which loops to the top of the steps at our main entrance, this will allow guests who use wheelchairs or have any mobility aids to enter the hotel through the main entrance.

There is one step up to get to our reception area, but guests can avoid this step by going through the hotel bar area and following the corridor around, past a handful of bedrooms, remaining on a flat level at all times.

To access the first floor of the hotel, all guests are welcome to use our lift.

In the event of a fire, evacuation or other emergency, we have an ‘Evac Chair’ and our staff have been well trained in evacuating guests using this method and bringing them safely from the first floor to the ground floor.

BAR AND FUNCTION ROOM ACCESSIBILITY

Our Sir Galahad function suite and our main bar are both located on the ground floor and are fully accessible, whilst our Atrium and Banqueting Hall dining areas are located on the first floor – with full access available via our lift.

Regrettably, our Plimsoll Line function room is located down a small flight of stairs, and our Champagne Bar is located up a flight of stairs, so these spaces are not accessible to wheelchair users.

BEDROOM ACCESSIBILITY

On the ground floor of the main hotel building, we have a fully adapted accessible bedroom with a fully accessible bathroom with an accessible shower, wall-mounted shower seat, grab rails and an alarm pull-cord. We also have a portable shower chair available upon request.

SUPPORT FOR GUESTS

Our porters assist all guests with their luggage and our concierge team assist guests by making reservations and recommendations for them, whilst our chefs and kitchen team can cater for people with allergies, intolerances or other requirements, for example Halal or Kosher diets. Please let us know of any requirements on booking or arrival at the hotel.

We are a family friendly hotel and can provide additional beds in larger rooms for children to stay with their parents, and have high-chairs available in our Banqueting Hall and for private dining and events.

Further, our reception team are available 24/7 to support guests, no matter how big or small their request.

MORGANS TOWNHOUSE

ACESSING THE MORGANS TOWNHOUSE BUILDING

To access the Morgans Townhouse, all guests enter the building via a ramp from the pavement to the main doors. Inside, we have guest bedrooms on the ground floor and on the first and second floors, accessed via three lifts.

Regrettably, we do have one room on the ground floor of The Townhouse which has a separate entrance via the street, so this room is not accessible.

BEDROOM ACCESSIBILITY

On the ground floor, we have an adapted accessible room with a Super King bed, which can be twinned, and an accessible bathroom with an accessible shower, grab rails and an alarm pull-cord.

 SUPPORT FOR GUESTS

Our porters assist all guests with their luggage and our concierge team can further assist guests by making any reservations or recommendations for local attractions or restaurants to visit. Whilst the Townhouse isn’t staffed, guests are welcome to speak to staff at the reception desk in the main building 24-hours a day.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Our fire alarm sounds by a continuous ringing sound. To support any guests who are deaf or hard of hearing and therefore may not hear the alarm when it sounds, the Duty Manager would immediately go to the guest’s room/s and support them evacuating the building safely. Guests who are deaf or hard of hearing are asked to inform reception staff on check-in.

If any guests require a mini fridge, for example for their medication, hotel staff can arrange this. Please inform us ahead of your stay.
